Can you replace fascias and soffits without removing the roof? +
Yes. In most cases we replace fascias, soffits and bargeboards from the outside using scaffold or towers, without disturbing the tiles or the roof structure. We lift the first course of tiles just enough to fit the new boards and refit everything neatly.
How often should gutters be cleaned? +
For most homes, once a year is enough — ideally in late autumn once the leaves have dropped. Properties with overhanging trees may need clearing twice a year. Keeping gutters clear stops overflow running down the walls and causing damp.
How much does new guttering cost to install? +
It depends on the size of the property, how much guttering and downpipe is involved and whether it's replacing like-for-like or upgrading. We measure up at the free survey and give you a fixed written quote — no obligation.

Fascias, soffits and guttering don't get much attention until something goes wrong. But they do a lot of quiet work protecting the timbers underneath. Blocked or sagging gutters are a common cause of hidden damage, since water backs up under the lowest tiles and rots the fascia board behind it.

uPVC roofline products have mostly replaced timber, since they need far less upkeep and won't rot. We still work with timber fascias where a period property calls for it. We check the whole roofline on any guttering job, since a failing fascia is often why the gutter came loose.
